Overview
Senior staff in the Tourism Management School of Services Management of Bournemouth University have
developed a highly specialised suite of postgraduate
tourism programmes to produce graduates with
exceptionally focused and sought-after skills and
expertise.
- MSc Tourism and Hospitality Management

These programmes are vocational in nature and are designed
to meet the present and future industry needs for
managers, executives and other professionals in the
fields of tourism and hospitality management. They are designed to
provide students with both the concepts and analytical
skills to deal with the tourism sector in the new
millennium. Of particular value to international
students is the comprehensive English language and study
skills support tutoring available.
This programme will develop:
- analytical and managerial competencies appropriate to
tourism and hospitality sectors, organizations and
operations in diverse operating environments
- your ability to define, investigate, analyse, evaluate
and respond to the tactical and strategic issues of
concern to tourism and hospitality
- your capacity to manage your own learning and self
- development in the context of
organizational change
- your capacity to stimulate change in response to
current and future developments in public and private
sector organisations operating in the industries
On completion of the
Tourism management school programme, graduates will be:
- knowledgeable about the diversity of managerial
functions and work in tourism and hospitality
organizations
- aware of the cultural differences associated with
managerial work in tourism and hospitality organisations
- able to develop their aptitude for leadership and to
appraise and respond to issues facing managers in general
and tourism and hospitality managers in particular.
